Seminar „Making Lifelong Learning a Reality“, Cologne, 7th to 9th March 2004 Workshop No. 1: Orientation in education. Education Counselling / Lifelong Guidance
Education Consulting means initial and orientation counselling as well as further counselling in terms of learning consulting and further education consulting. It is a central instrument to accompany people regarding their educational biography. Improving the transparency of educational offers as well as developing and networking bundled offers for information, consulting and agency services is one important target. In this workshop, different forms and models of counselling and consulting services will be selected, their benefits and disadvantages will be discussed.
The central questions will be:
• Ways to carry out consulting?
• Possibilities, targets and feedback loops within the consulting process? The role of Internet-based media – “blended counselling”
• Considering informal learning?
• Qualification/competence profiles for further education consultants
• How can the interface management with other educational domains, the business community and civil life be improved in consulting
